Hi to all,
Recently the contractor Coleman & co have been involved in several local demolition contracts in the area where I live. Sadly the local council made the mistake of moving the residents out before the demolition took place naughty me naa never.
Colemans tend to use Liebherr but also have a few Cat machines.

9AM Coleman & Co operatives starts work
5PM Property prices have increased by 25% in the area
Liebherr seem to be favoured by demolition contractors, as I believe their excavators can take a knock or two?

Great pictures!
I think Hitachi is the main player for Demolition machines in the UK.
Liebherrs Biggest UHD/HRD in the UK is Kanes 984....
....Hitachis biggest is 777s Ex1200 and Dsm s Ex1200 [Slighter smaller because of not ghaving the modularjoints and extensions]
And hitachi machines are morecommonly seen in demolition companys!

Ey oop Jez,
Coleman's used to be big Cat fans, but service and sales let him down a few times. To be perfectly honest, Volvo and Liebherr demolition spec gear is top rate, will take a hell of a lot to beat them, as they come from the factory in full demolition spec. On the upside, Colemans run a Cat 350 and the driver would rather have that re-built than a new machine, that old gal must have made them some shillings.

DSM had a Liebherr 984 in the late 90's which Kocurek built a 5 piece 41 metre boom for.DSM traded this into HM plant when they bought their first telescopic boom Hitachi, and the 984 went to scottish contractor Scotdem i believe. In the 80's and 90's Liebherr versions of early high reach machines with rigid and telescopic demolition poles were favoured by large contractors like Burnthills demolition. Some examples can be found at http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~hfcampbe/welcome.htm Tim
