A Real Cop out!

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Sat Jan 28, 2012 12:05 pm

And it is quite literally as there are no cops in the building anymore  The remains of what was West Bromwich police station are torn down by ARMAC.

This building which is a relatively new building has been despatched to make way for ................ wait for it ....................................

Yep you guessed it another Tesco  we already have the largest Tesco in the country just up the road at Dudley, it's so big you need a push bike to get round it, so perhaps if there's a housing shortage we could all move into Tesco, it would make the shopping easier but would be no good for the waist line

I took quite a few pics of the other work which is part of a multi-million pound job to try and resurrect what is left of West Bromwich town centre. Having lived here all my life I find it sad to see the level of decay in the old town centre which was a shopping marvel in the early seventies.

I will try and post more general construction pics soon, if Jack or Sam are around there is plenty of machinery on site at the moment but there is restricted access, earlier today I climbed over a fence to what had been a public walkway only to realize I was actually on site

This afternoon I ended up taking my friend and her kiddies shopping up West Bromwich and was surprised to find ARMAC still hard at it, the old police station is now totally gone and I must say that it is a waste of money.
Okay so Tesco paid for the new police station first but what a waste of a good building, if it had been a time spent building or even an eyesore fair enough but there was nowt wrong with it.
Anyway another few pics for you.

I was there for about 45 minutes this morning but also took several pics of some of the other work going on, I also caught Drotler Plants Cat D6 dozer being taken off site on the lowloader. I was could not spend too much time this afternoon as I had my friend and her kids with me so trying to take pics and keep and eye on kids is virtually impossible.
I take it the Volvo on the lowloader was being taken off site?
