im not too sure, but the 984 engine sounds a lot higher pitched than this due to a turbo.

Hitachi sales literature says machine fitted with intercooler, so must have turbo.

just been on the hitachi website, the engine doe have a turbo charger, jus sounds alot beefier then the 984, the engine in the 1200 is:

Cummins QSK23-C
Water-cooled, 4-cycle, 6-cylinder
in line, turbo-charged direct injection
chamber-type diesel engine.
