The big boys meccano set

Post #1 by Robert Guy » Sat Jul 11, 2009 10:08 am

I was flicking through some old pis and remember this conveyor system i installed in an old MOD building in London.
Really enjoyed putting it together as it came in a thousand bits and was just like my old meccano set :D :D :D ,mind you though it didn`t come with any instructions !
It did have its problems though, high and short rooms which some of you chaps will notice in one of the pics makes the gradient very steep (but don`t worry all sorted it :!: ) and of course the dead line :(
Hope you like the pictures.

Hi martyn, It was a strip out job to make way for a hotel .
The conveyor i instilled was built to carry about 200 000 ton of hardcore and rubble

Can`t really remember martyn, may have got it wrong  But can remember it was over 100 000 ton and it was over a year of striping.
It was a big building , 8 floors and took about 10 mins to walk around the outside :dizzy: Not to mention the under ground tunnels used in WWII

There is perhaps more of London under the ground than there is on the surface.. i can remember seeing that series on TV "hidden London" .. most intresting
