Cat 395C TUHD

Post #1 by TUHD » Sat Oct 25, 2008 11:08 pm

Pictures of an other Telescopic Ultra High Demolition (TUHD) machine. The machine is owned by demolition contractor Beelen. The machine has complete new technology used in the machine compared with the famous Kocurek telescopic demolition booms. So instead of 1, 2 or 3 cilinders for each telescopic section, the machine has one single cilinder that will running in the boom to telescope each section out. The technology is the same like the modern telescopic cranes. An other thing is that the boom is made from special high strength steel, in stead of Weldox 700. So these things will save the weight from the boom, so a lighter base machine is required, or...... to go higher.

Some pictures of the machine working on a demolition job of an electrical power plant in Holland.

Working next to the Cat 395c TUHD is the Hitachi EX 1200-5 with 28 tons Genesis GXP 2500R scrap shear.

A lot of people didn't understand why it is called Cat 395c TUHD. The base machine is in fact a Cat 385c excavator, but is very heavily modified. So an hydraulic adjustable undercarriage and a lot of more counterweight. So because the machine is now more than a Cat 385, the type is changed to cat 395C TUHD. The working height is 62m from the machine.

Indeed is the Rusch boom. Half of next week he's starting a demolition job, close to Amsterdam. The 90m is also now back in the Rusch workshop for some modifications. The big problem is that Rusch totaly had now experience with demolition machines/demolition like Kocurek. They start from nothing to 62m with some problems and than to 90m with many more big problems. The 62m is now perfect and everyone learned a lot about it.
