I would imagine they blew down the top half so it would be more managable for the 870LCH to take down.....Good footage...I really want to witness a blow down. I had the chance to go watch the blow down of the old chimneys across the M1 from Meadowhall in Sheffield a few years ago but i had to be ill that night so i missed it!!!

I agree Clive it is a shame, but the area is being turned into 500 odd houses ... i dont know if you saw it on the clip but there is a lovely blue lake there ..its a lovely milky blue, and its like that all year round .. i think it was used to deposit the chalk waste ...

And i think i am older than you Graham, George, Fred .. oh whatever the name is :lol: ..thats my excuse ..whats yours ;)
