To answer your original question; yes, the air line lying next to the machine is connected to a remote compressor not seen in the photos to power the "drill head".
Also; windshield or windscreen are the correct English words for the forward facing glass panel on cars, trucks, equipment, etc..

Although Ive seen many rotary drills attached to hydraulic excavators; I have never seen a set-up quite like this ever. Even considering the external air supply, is this type of configuration legal in the UK? Hydraulic lines suspended by chains and such would result in considerable fines here in America. With few exceptions; machines here have to be "self-contained".
John Henry is one manufacturer of hydraulic excavator drill attachments. You can see how the additional engine, hydraulic pump and reservoir, and air compressor are fitted to the counterweight and sometimes in place of.
