And the Smith 21 being loaded / unloaded in the quarry - it is either approaching, or has just negotiated, that part of the trip where the operator wonders if this time they're going to go straight ahead or off at a tangent..........

Re: French Dumper

Thanks, I like the military (presumably WW2) tow hitch! So I wonder if the Clowez was a copy of the Fowell, or was the Fowell a copy of the French machine? George Fowell seemed to have very close connections with France, but I'm struggling to find much early history of the firm. They were believed t...

Re: French Dumper

Looks like George Fowell were producing dumpers for the French market - I wonder if this model spawned the similar types shown in some of the brochures on this thread? I had a drive of this one (which either came back to UK or never went to France!) a couple of weeks ago: http://www.classicmachinery...

Re: Poclain 75 CKB

Top man. We ran a GCK120 for quite a few years, eventually getting hold of a scrap machine for spares to keep it going. CK denotes a heavier duty model for quarry use etc. Main difference is use of higher pressure hydraulics than other machines, so be sure to use Multispiral hoses. Pumps and motors ...

Australian manufacturer AT Harman

Found some images of the products of an (unknown to me) Australian maker AT Harman.
Seems they were active from the late 1880s until early 1970s, dealing in, repairing and eventually manufacturing new machines.
