Re: First Post...Hi.

Hi Ian, Nice to get your letter.Where are you located.? We're just going through a long, hot spell here, with temps of 36-41 all week.... I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on the FL5 Drott....I always liked the size of that machine. For the 55 sprockets, try Darlind (NSW),GW Tractors (Bris),Sai...

Re: First Post...Hi.

HI Dave, There are a few of those IH cranes still working here...often in wrecking yards.Same with the Butterbox ACCO trucks...still going on farms, etc. The A100 Drotts are rare now. We tend to hang on to machinery here....if it's easy to fix,it stays in work. Sorry about the bad pic posting.....anot...

Re: First Post...Hi.

HI Martyn, Our non-ROPS cabs generally need only to keep the sun off the operator.I'm constantly amused by the cabs you guys have over there...but you gotta keep out of the cold. Thought I'd post a few pics of IH stuff. A 1971 catalogue features an A100 Drott, plus a "butterbox cab" truck. ...

Re: IH150B

Hi Rusted,
Thanks for the pics....a nice looking Drott.
Was that you in the seat?
Did you like operating the old girl?

I remember a demolition Co in Melbourne had a 150 or 175 in the late 70s.I always thought the IH Drotts looked good in working mode.

The 1010 mentioned had a liner deck in the engine that was an expensive Pain In The .....
I've had a few JD350 & 1010...never liked them much.,although they were all well worn.Operated a 755 Drott & liked the power it had.

Re: Our 955L

Thanks Nick, I ran a 953 about 10 years ago, which was part of a small fleet of 953s....I could never work out how the boss made money from them. The amount of fuel alone was a killer, plus there was always a bad engine, undercarriage or pumps on one of the machines. Track Loaders are a great tool...it'...

Re: Taurus photo hopefully!

John,
Thanks for the excellent pics.We don't see many Taurus out here.

This is from R.H Robinson's CRAWLER TRACTOR SCRAPBOOK series.
There's about 7 Taurus pages in it.

Re: Our 955L

Hi Nick, Thanks for the pics.I love the 955s...my favourite CAT! I'm just wondering about the economics of running a Crawler Loader these days.....do you run them just coz they are an all-rounder & you can't get by with, say,an excavator or loader only? Is it their all round flexibility that make...

Re: Drotts on demolition

Hey Martyn,
Fantastic Drott pics. It's nice to see them in near-new condition, instead of in a 50 year old state of decay.
That first pic,on the heap,is the best IH Drott action pic I've seen.
Thanks..
Jim
