Re: MF Loader ID ??
I took the faded Id plate off,so I could take a close look at it. I think this is a 3165 S model. The faded info was at the very bottom of the ID plate.Coventry is mentioned on the plate, along with trademark info/patents. I found Flickr pics of one at a tractor show in the UK... Cloughmills Vintage R...

Re: MF Loader ID ??
Thanks EssexPete, I'm not too familiar with MF tractors...there seems to be a lot of models & variants. Besides the ID plate,is there any other way to definitively learn what model it is? Engine starts well,& I got it moving by gently moving the range lever....even though clutch is near toas...

MF Loader ID ??
I bought this MF loader recently,& now I need to identify the model. It was advertised as a 168,sold as a 165....but I think it's something like an early 50,or a 203...or ??? The ID tag is faded, but I can get # 810088 from it. The gearbox & Loader Frame have MF OEM numbers on them...I might h...

You might pick up a similar running Perkins elsewhere.A rebuild will cost a lot.

Re: Trying to what model Fiat these track plates fit
Nice OEM plates. Try your local Berco agent. The 100x56 spacings are the relevant holes. GW Tractors, here in Oz,might know their parent crawler. The MF300 (9 ton) comes up at 108 x 56.That's the closest I can find. MF used Fiat chains for their smaller crawlers. I reckon they'll be off a Fiat or Land...

With regard to the CONTINENTAL Crawlers... The CRAWLER TRACTOR SCRAPBOOK (Book 3) has a few pages of info about them.
I rate this set of 4 books very highly.
Tractors were Distributed in Britain by Continental Tractor (UK),Feltham,Middlesex.Diff steer was used,& Berliet engines also used.
