excellent site, easy to use and post pics, fast too. I only have the public library computers and download time is good. Maybe an _off topic_ thread for anything goes (within reason of coarse) regards rayman

Good pics Nick, now if ever there was a machinery failure it was the Ruston Bucyrus 20 H. a mate and I owned one and I was never so glad as when she broke her back and went for scrap. They were 22RB basicly with the old mechanical drive under and hydraulic topsides. V6 Cummins for power, regards ray...

Dozeron, that wouldnt be Jerry OReilys mine at Huntly by any chance. If it is, that is the original "Kupa Kupa" mine which was worked by maori women and the coal sold to the Govt. for the gunboats in the Waikato Wars of 1863. regards rayman

Top Link---it is so you can add or subtract the top link to give longer out-reach and shorter tuck-under or vice-versa. Hope that makes sense for you.

Hi Nick, that SMITH is a model 21, probably powered by a 6-LW Gardner. A real smooth machine to operate too. Their weak point was the slew pinion, I recall replacing many of them.
