The Vatican Mack (Fiat), they sold quite well out here for some years till they up and left one night and left all the owners high and dry with no parts
International tried to introduce them again in the 90's but the damage was done, cant even give the second hand ones away

Im not gunna be much help for you with your JCB, but I will say I agree with digger jones reply, it does look from that era to me
mate a 10 gallon make over would be a rebuild done with 10 gallons of paint, or at least thats my take on it

Wayne I have often thought the same thing and for the life of me I cant think of a reason they went that way
Lucky for Australian we never had that type of thing we had side load rear load or folding goose neck and pretty much do today, although most today are rear load

Tony its been stretched and its been shrunk and no doubt some other things as well over its life And yes it is a 604 It was one of the very first modern style road trains in Australia, as in one of the first 4 ever built up after WW2 and worked between Alice Springs and Larrimah in the Northern Terr...

Things for me have been a but different for the last few months as we have sold our farm and the old Mack has had needed some work doing on it so I havent been very far or seen very much as almost ever day for nearly 2 months I have been working on the Mack so here is some photo's 2 photo's a month ...

In the bottom photo Fred I gather thats a trailed scraper on the float, what controls the front wheels from wondering all over the road when loaded like that ??
Do they spin the drawbar around and hook it on the rear of the float ?

Ram rods are very cheap to get made
I wouldnt even muck around trying to fix it, I would just get a new rod made and then I know its good
The truth is oil costs so much it doesnt take long to pay for the repair with the oil saved
