Re: jcb problems

I know it sounds stupid but is it low on hydraulic oil ? I would start there first maybe give it a hydraulic fluid and filter change also clean the strainer out too, With the steering quite often on 3cmk2 and mk3 machines it could be the orbital steering valve its a common fault, They quite often le...

Re: Can not start jcb 3cx backhoe, help

Its possible you could have a bit of crap in the fuel line between the tank and the injectors i had this on an old 3c mk2 several years ago. But if yo u say you have started to get smoke coming out of the exhaust i would say you still have a bit of air in the system, you could give it a squirt of ea...

Re: Classic Plant and Machinery

I was a bit annoyed when i read in the editors intro that it was to be the last edition and the next one would be in Old Glory, i think its a bloomin cheek to stop something part way through a yearly subscription they could have at least waited until the end of the year surely they have enough copy ...

Re: 1989 JCB 3CX Brake Pipe Replacement

As Jeremy says i would make a set of brake pipes up using something like a classic car brake pipe kit where you get a roll of copper pipe and cut it to length put new fittings on and swage the pipe. When you refill the system dont forget to use the 15 grade light hydraulic oil - do not use brake flu...

Re: JCB 3CX gearbox oil

I had a 1986 3cx with the Borg Warner shuttle and it is most definately 10W oil that you should use in it. The Dextron red oils have additives in them that can cause problems with internals if they are used, i have had a few diggers that i have found to have the red atf dextron in them and i have dr...

Re: The way we were

Fred you are a legend those pictures are great and remind me of watching machines loading and unloading off the side, I always remember watching an artic with one of Wimpys JCB 3C MK2's unloading off the side using the backhoe to swing itself around happy times.

1993 3cx starter motor wiring

Hi Gents, I am trying to sort out a starter problem on a Project 8 3cx that does not start, I thought it was a problem with a connection as you can turn the key and you get the buzzer and warning lights loud and clear then when you go and turn to start you get nothing, I have replaced the positive b...
