Hydrovane Engine
Can someone provide the make and model information for the 4 cylinder diesel engine that was used in Hydrovane fast tow machines? The machine appears to be similar to Martyn's machine featured in another thread. I'm considering using one of these engines to replace a 3 cylinder Kubota engine dependi...

Re: kh 66
I believe it is under the bonnet, fixed to the bulkhead above the battery compartment.

Kubota KH66 D1402 engine manual
Not sure if this is the best place or whether the compact section might be better.....
Has anyone got a copy of a copy of the Kubota D1402 engine manual, I've had a look through the download section and can't seem to see it there.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Alistair

Re: Mini Excavators Queries
Thanks very much Julian, I'll give Craig a call in the week and start the ball rolling. This is just the sort of machine to complement my tractors (FE20 and MF35) and the 1 tonne hydraulic tip electric start dumper I bought a little time ago (must post a couple of pic's in the dumper section sometim...

Re: Mini Excavators Queries
Julian, I'm based near Lampeter, Mid Wales (Profile now updated). You descibe the sort of jobs I'll expect it to do perfectly.
Just taken a quick look on Cautrac's web site - impressive range of machines.

Re: Mini Excavators Queries
Apologies for gatecrashing the post, there are some really interesting comments posted.... I've also beeen toying with the idea of buying an old (used/abused) 1.5 - 3 ton mini digger, I have enough small jobs between my own property and my immediate neighbours to keep an old machine chugging away fo...

Re: 2wd Dumper advice required
Thanks guy's, an independent hydraulic supply would be really good, thanks for the link Julian. Local, thats really encouraging.
Not had a chance to get in touch with JL, work has been a nightmare - though, in the mean time a dumper opportunity might have come up - I'll keep you posted.

Re: 2wd Dumper advice required
Cheers Julian, For the time being - at least over the next 12 months, a swing start would be fine, despite living in Wales bump starting is not really an option. An electric start upgrade would make things much easier especially for the GF at some time in the future. I live in mid Wales near Carmart...

Re: 2wd Dumper advice required
Hi Julian, You make a great deal of sense, btw your machine looks like a great bit of kit. My initial needs are pretty straightforward, carting top soil and gravel.... The reasons behind a possible electric conversion is that it will make it a bit easier for my girlfriend to use it without assistanc...

First post, so here goes.... There seems to be quite a few makes to choose from (thwaites, Winget, Benford, Barford, Johnson....) - I don't have a lot of cash, what would make the best purchase for restoration/renovation into a good working machine? Is there anything I should look out for on a prosp...
