Re: Petter ph2 slow to turn on hand start
If there isn't any nasty noises when it turns over, I might be tempted to put the drive chain back on then tow it around the yard a few times to loosen it up. That may start to bring some oil pressure up and lube the sticky bits.

Re: Safety Bulletin
Well, I'd not really thought about it before. It was drilled into us about diesel injectors when testing them etc., but a grease gun wouldn't have been on my radar. It was probably one of the first power tools I ever used, and certainly younger that 10. Air powered in the yard or bucket pump in the ...

Re: Old Benford Dumper
Hi Stefan,
Not an educated guess in any way but after sifting through some pics I would suggest maybe a Benford 750, 1965ish.
Wonderful scenery you have there!

Re: Liner Rough Rider 'personnel carrier'
Hi Martin, welcome along. An interesting beastie. At a glance I would have thought more of a quarry or works maintenance truck than personnel carrier. If the left front tyre is original it suggest it carried a fair bit of weight on paved surfaces. Any history with it? I'm guessing the yellow box by ...

Re: Help with a B414 gas tractor
Sorry, the high tension leads are the four plug leads and the king lead which runs from the coil to the distributor.

Hey, if it runs and drives then for the sake of a good service, free is a damn good price!

Re: Help with a B414 gas tractor
Hi Frank, Plugs, points, condenser, and coil are all good for causing a hot shutdown. If it's new to you and you don't know the history of it, then these parts including the HT leads could be viewed as suspect and for the cost of it may be worth changing them out anyway. Please keep us informed of w...

Re: Truckfest Newbury 2017
Veering off topic somewhat but having seen what you can get up to down there, how do they square up to the sort of work on offer?
