Re: Pond Life
Haha to the duck.
No suction problems that you get with a conventional machine. I think this is due to the buoyancy and smooth sides of the pontoons.
So what's after the Doosan Liam?

Re: Pond Life
The bath is out of the question!
Seriously no. In really wet bog it works well but you have to pull yourself around if it's upto the turret. Mind you its generally deep then. We've done jobs in 4m of sh?t! Try taking your Doosan 140 in there!

Re: Pond Life
I got asked to hire the amphib and track dumper to the guy next door for the day. I just loved this photo......
Mixed them up again
The middle picture is of the two we've just finished. The shallow bits are rare plants, we didn't miss a load!

Re: Pond Life
hi Dave, the tail swing can really catch you out. With the rear steer on that trailer the back comes around really fast with about 5m of overhang! Plus you can't see it from the cab!

Still not done 5000 hrs and ten years old :D Its sitting on a stockpile most of the time. Thanks Graham for putt...

Re: Pond Life
Hi Paul, thanks for the interest. The ponds are silted right up so there's no draft for a boat, it's a digger and dumper job! The unusual long reach is a Priestman VC15 (variable counterweight) long reach. It is a hybrid between rope and hydraulic. The winch that draws in the dipper is hydraulic, th...
