..... Didn't Sid Harrison converted some Scammell's just like that? It looks like Harrison stretched the chassis and added a middle non-steer axle supported on airbags. In the bottom photo Fred I gather thats a trailed scraper on the float, what controls the front wheels from wondering all over the road when loaded like that ?? Do they spin the drawbar around and hook it on the rear of the float ? Paul That's a great question Paul :thumbup: also wonder how they go...

Interesting - yes it is quite possible, but depends how it fitted - the one shown below (only pic I can find) has the extra axle set further back, but the one in your York advert pics show it quite close to the tractor's axle, just like the recovery pi...
