The engine is a Dorman 4LB. The info I've managed to find on it is, 4 Cyl , just under 6.4 Ltr, 74 BHP at 1800 REVS. It's a fair size lump, so does any one know what size battery should be used on it, amp hours or whatever? It's a 12 volt system and it looks a though it's only had 1 battery on it. N...

Just discovered it has 2 speed forward and reverse, so I'd guess slow and very slow .

Had to get Fred to explain the workings of a similar piece of plant but that was quite a while back, its on here somewhere.

I would normally swop it out but the fuel pipes have large nuts on them and the ends of the pipes have those brazed on type fittings, it's not going anywhere soon so I'll carry on with the water system. Forgot to mention the loco is driven from out side the cab. the driver stands on the running boards (on either side) and controls the loco by controls (Duel) just inside the cab door.

Hi all. Was asked to have a go at getting this running. It's was made by Hunslett about 1961, It's believed to be the only one of its kind (small Dorman 4 cyl)left. Water pump, core plug and smashed fuel filter on todays medical, the motor isn't seized though. I'll see what else later. Oh by the way...
