Re: HOT HYMAC
A lucky escape! When I managed an HGV and plant workshop in the 60s we had a rule - "No arcing or sparking within half an hour of finishing" and the workshop was never left empty at lunch time. I apply the same rule today in my garden and grounds-care machinery workshop but on a lighter no...

Hi Colin,
Was your dad the Conway who had 657s stripping the overburden off the cement chalk pits at Swanscombe near Dartford, Kent - mid to late 60s?

Re: Motorway muckshifting...again
It's amazing to think that something as big as a 657 used to be driven on public roads. When you see them next to cars they look huge! There is a great picture in Bill Huxley's book Opencast Coal Plant And Equipment, showing two Crouch 657's on the Tyne bridge in 1967. Sites like this will never be ...

Friend just sent me this! If you've ever worked for a boss that reacts before getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love this! Harley Davidson, feeling it was time for a shake-up, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers. On a tour of the faci...

Re: On Site Hydraulic Hose Repairs
Have used Finnings a number of times for hydraulic and hydrostatic hose repairs on grass cutting equipment. Not cheap but so far 100% satisfaction. Pirtek don't have a good reputation in this area (SE Kent)
but it's very much down to the individual operator/franchisee on the day.

Hi Nicky, I too run a small business (selling and servicing garden machinery) and my experience is,that with one or two notable exceptions, the bigger the company the the worse the accounts department. If one can deal with an owner things are usually fine but managers and credit controllers - ugh! O...

Re: Using Dozers And A Chain For Clearing.
Hi, Modelman93. Just as a matter of interest, is that model of the D9 with funnel dozer commercially available? If so, may I ask where? I am curious and - maybe - interested. Hi Deas, No, it is one of a small batch researched and commissioned from a skilled model maker by another UK collector. Not ...
