Re: Just purchased a JCB 3c mk2

If the price right Steven I might! This digger doesn't have its original engine but does have a 38TD in it from a Nuffield. Have you got a bonnet?

Re: Just purchased a JCB 3c mk2

Hi Steven, your digger is a 69 - 72 machine. Originally it would have had a 38TD engine. I saw this advertised too and I just missed out on it to you by minutes.

Re: JCB Power train help

It does sound like the main shaft in the gearbox is the problem if there was a bang. These types of transmission were prone to breaking half shafts as well though. Either way its a lot of work but scrap value is very little on these now. I know of one bloke who after the collection fee of his scrap ...

Re: JCB Power train help

Yeah you have the Brockhouse transmission on a Leyland tractor skid. Not an easy transmission to work on. What exactly is your transmission not doing?

Re: JCB Power train help

There were no Powertrains made in 1977. If your digger has a shuttle lever for forward and reverse then you have a Brockhouse transmission. Is the handbrake on the digger on the floor of your digger or on the right of the dash?

Re: Poclain 360 on low loader Bristol this morning

I don't think any digger would be scrapped at the minute with the low scrap price.

Re: JCB 3C Mk2 Brakes

I had no drive at all when braking the right wheel and this was with a good few revs.

Re: JCB 3C Mk2 Brakes

The diff is good on this machine. I've been doing lots of circles clockwise and anti-clockwise. With the jack legs down and then put in gear I applied the left brake and the noise stops as does the wheel. I lift the pedal back up as it doesn't spring back up by itself. The wheel still doesn't turn. ...
