Have you priced from a JCB dealer? They used not to be too expensive on certain items. They also did a split gland and wiper seal so you did not have to pull the piston out.

If it starts well and does not burn oil I would not be rushing for a rebuild. A good service oils and filters, breather like Jem has said and possibly get the injectors serviced. If not perhaps an injector cleaner.

Does the engine start ok and in the cold? How much do you use the machine??

Are you used to driving machines with a different pattern of operation or perhaps there is just some slop in the lever??

You will probably need to explain the model and the type of spool control.

I used a piece of poly carbonate in our old 3C111 sliding window for years and it was OK. Care with cleaning as it easily scratches. Would not want it in a back window or screen.

The build five power train is leaps ahead of the other two if in reasonable order. The transmission can be dropped out fairly easily as well for over haul. Are the cab frames completely different to the earlier and later cabs with the framed doors?
