One of the exhaust ports on my PH2 was completely blocked, I used a small chisel to break it out. A fitter at the plant hire shop said it was down to drivers leaving them running over break times ( tea, dinner, etc).

I found the valves were ok in mine but lapped them in anyway but the guides did have play in them. I left them as they were and the engine0 ( PH2) runs fine.

Hi Phil.
I think the bump clearance was 28/32 thou, can't be sure now but the shims could be cut on an angle to save taking the barrel and head off the piston. I haven't got the manual near me at the moment so can't confirm the bump clearance, ( memory age etc)

Hi all.
Just finished the repairs on the offside door (what was left of it. Some pics to follow hopefully. I also had to chop through hinges on the side windows to open them, but that's another episode.
