Re: My Thwaites(?) 3Ton!
Usually you can use a higher grade of brake fluid but never a lower grade oil so go with the higher.

As for electric start you need to tell us what engine, model and direction it rotates. Check to see that your flywheel does has teeth first not all did.

Re: Cant remove gearbox from Thwaites twin cylinder Dumper
I think that gecko has nailed the issue pretty well. In your post you mentioned that you "altered the clutch rod", what did you alter? Keep us informed with any and all progress or issues. I had a clutch plate freeze on an old vintage car once and was able to unstick by having someone tow ...

Re: Front wheel steering dumper?
some forums need images to be compressed as the files are too big. In time you may be able to repair the pulley for the hand brake or find another one. I found it handy to have a park brake as ground is not always level.

Re: Front wheel steering dumper?

Always best to show pics of what you talk about as some descrfiptions are not familiar. Hope you do get to the Rally and hopefully so...

Re: Humpty Dumpy
We are downsizing the collection and sad to say that Humpty was the first to go. I have a large Lister that must go but Lorry and the David Brown for now are staying. Some other vintage engines may go too but a few of the vintage lawn mowers are yet to be done up then move on the rest as spares. It ...

Then there is David our David Brown 30C Cropmaster style Series 3 tractor we use for tractor treks. Or we lo...

Re: Humpty Dumpy
No mate, that belongs to my mate across the road. Its 8 years old and has 500,000 kilometers on the clock and runs sweet as. His last Kenworth he put 9 million kilometers on it and needed 1 gearbox rebuild, 3 clutches, both diffs reconditioned and 3 crated engines. In that truck they ran Caterpillar...
