look through the hatch in the floor under your feet , you will see two solenoids each side on the top of the box , most likely one of these playing up , swap the plugs when it wont move and see

might be as easy to find a second hand lump

yes its just a core plug , dig it out and tap a replacement in and give it a try , i think it may require more though
