Am I correct in saying that they had no power to the wheels?
I have always wondered if you could put the boom hydraulics into some sequence to pull you forward but it looks like its just the skill if the operator.
Was that shot of a pin engaging how they stop it from free-wheeling when digging?

Re: Edward Beck & Son
It amazes me to imagine what people must have thought when parts for Big Geordie started arriving!
Its still massive by today's standards, however, can you imagine the talk in the yard when that bucket lip and the sheaves arrived (when a big machine of the time was a 2400 or 150b)!

Re: Marion rope shovels in UK opencast
Isn't it just the 1150B dragline at St Adens? Don't think they have a shovel preserved to they?

Re: Marion rope shovels in UK opencast
Hi Richard,
I'm still not sure what model the big red marion was that was parked in Dyggor Gaylords yard at one time.
You can see a red and silver Lima 2400 on the left, a big red and silver Marion and then either a 150 or 195RB.
Not a very clear pic bit any thoughts???

He's one from me - driving under the boom of a 90 yard stripping shovel. Not something I thought I'd ever do so quite an experience!

Re: Cat 6020B
Is that machine derived from the O&K routes?
Obviously CAT stopped making their own mining excavators and acquired the O&K range via Bucyrus - not seen that one before though? If the 6030 is the old RH120, is this RH90 sized?
