Thanks again Essex pete, Your help is much appreciated, I will keep you informed  Thanks Essexpete, I've had a look at it and yes it appears to be straight enough. As someone with little experience of 360's how does a 814 powerslide compare in reach terms with equivilant fixed boom machines...

Thanks Essexpete, I've had a look at it and yes it appears to be straight enough. As someone with little experience of 360's how does a 814 powerslide compare in reach terms with equivilant fixed boom machines and what are the main things to look for? cheers, Jim.

I'm looking for a 360!

I know its a long shot but I'm looking to buy an excavator, anything from 4 to 20 tons, preferably long reach for cleaning ponds etc but anything considered. Only for farm use so nothing too new or expensive 8-) . Located near Harrogate. Cheers.

Re: OLD MACHINES STILL EARNING THEIR CRUST!!

Yep, It is a model FL4, 1960. My Dad bought it around 1970, (the same year I was born) and over the years we have aquired parts/donor machine enabling us to keep it running. I still does serious work and is a very hardy little machine.

Re: OLD MACHINES STILL EARNING THEIR CRUST!!

Yeah, They must be much stronger than they look. We have lifted many very heavy things and never for a mishap. However, the later Fiat Allis crawlers had flat bar for the loadr arms. Cheers
