Re: Ford description

Is it possible that the "pre-force" engines, at least for the larger tractors, were the "Trader" engine, as fitted to Fordson New/Power/Super Major and early JCB's? The reason I'm wondering, is that a cousin of mine, generally very knowledgeable about plant and machinery, has sug...

Re: dumper help needed

1. fuel lines, these are metal so i take it they are under a lot of pressure? could i use rubber lines? If you are talking about the lines from the injection pump to the injectors, then yes, they are under a lot of pressure. Other lines are not. That the lines are metal is not a certain indicator t...

Re: CMN Photo Competition May 2011

Here are this month's pictures from me: 0177-0117 10-05-2011 14-55.jpg This IH dozer is in honourable retirement in a nearby fjord. By the way, somebody might be forming the opinion, based on my submissions, that I have some kind of fetish for dilapidated machinery :shifty: This is not so: It´s just...

Re: 3CX Backhoe slowly drops down by itself

I dont think its the rams internally leaking through, otherwise I wouldn't be able to dig any thing with it! I'm no expert, but wouldn't that depend on how big the leak would be? Judging by the diameter of the pipes and hoses, the pump is capable of producing a considerable flow of fluid, which I w...

Re: What or who is RSS Bot?

Ah, that explains it; the "news" forum is one I tend to skip (and duh, where else would an RSS aggregator post  ). I'm sure I'm missing lots of interesting stuff, but life is just too short to keep up with it all ;) . "its not a bug, its a feature" Now *where* have I heard t...

Re: CMN Photo Competition March 2011

Thanks, everyone. there are some great pictures posted each month, it would be nice to see more members entering this monthly competition Totally agreed, Jeremy. So, with a rising sun and more machinery on the move, lets pull those cameras and cellphones out of their winter lairs and start shooting....

Re: What or who is RSS Bot?

I'm getting curious, where does this RSS bot post? I don't think I've seen any such messages on the groups I usually check, but then I only use the www interface. Does the bot maybe only post to the RSS feed?

Re: Skid Steer Tug

so what do you think, buy a tractor ?? From a completely practical perspective; yes, I think so. Of course, building a skid steer could be a fun project in it's own right, but it will be lot's of work, and you will have to get a h*ll of a lot of engineering decisions right to get something that wou...
