Since it's almost (officially) winter, I thought some OLD rigs that we would've seen regularly here in michigan in the '50's and '60's would be nice

Same here. The old-old one I ran was pretty beat-up when I got to it. But, it never failed me.

I'm not sure how many 870's were made. Probably not very many. The 870 took over where the 860 left off. Before that it was known as model 86, and before that, model 85. Then the 1970's happened, and LORAIN just concentrated on lift-cranes.......
