Re: Newage 40 gearbox
I've also done a newage 40 gearbox on a Benford 2000 dumper I have and the bell housing should part from the front of the newage 40 if you wanted to swap over gearboxes if I'm correct in what your thinking? I'll post some pics

Re: Newage 40 gearbox
Hi Matt I've just restored a Stothert & Pitt/ Aveling Barford SD06 and that's a different set up to the one i have. The gearbox I have in mine is tiny and to give you some idea of the size it has a bell housing on it with a 6" clutch of a hillman imp that is connected direct to the Lister L...

Re: 1970 Benford Dumper DropBox drive shaft
Hi Stefan I've had a search of the Internet and I can't find any, there's a couple of newage transfer boxes on eBay but not sure if they are suitable, I've found a company who does make driveshafts called beard and Fitch and they say they make them for classic restorers? Re: Hymac 580c RH Tracking issue
I've helped to do one and It could well be that the cog on one of the gear drives is mashed and it will move when there is no weight on it, take the gear cover off as you said and investigate, it should reveal the problem, if the gears are intact it could be hydraulic

Re: Dumper restoration
It's a promising sign that your getting smoke which means that some diesel is reaching the pot.Did you have the fuel pump overhauled and did they do anything to it? The injector screw at the top is for the altering of pressure on when the "pintle" in the injector opens against the pressure...

Re: Dumper restoration
Hi Stewart Just a thought after reading through all your posts and I feel your pain after restoring an old Aveling dumper and having the same sort of problems! Are there any shims between the fuel pump and the base of where it mounts? These shims are really important to getting the timing right and ...

Re: Benford TT2500 dumper
Hi
Does sound like the clutch may be on the way out if it needs a nudge from a digger to get it going, if its jumping out of gear there could be a bearing on the way out too!
Good luck
