I've always thought the Whitlock mechanism looked weak, especially for downward pressure on the arm. Those slender links look incredibly easy to bend. My Austrailian connection, (see paving equipment), used this milling head on an excavator to cut a vertical wall in sandstone on a road widening job, saving the need for a retaining wall.
