We are now into the final stages of the rebuild. The engine has been completed, was run up on the dyno and met all specifications. The travel motors, swing motors, control valves and associated items are all in place and the main pumps have now been fitted. We are hoping to fire her up in the next ...

i've just pulled the head of my jcb, which ran very well (on 3) to find the crown of number 4 piston smashed to bits. looks like impact damage, certainly from the top, thing is, the head looks in perfect order. no damage at all. i've not yet checked the valve seats and guides but there is no impact...
