Re: Caterpillar 992 A B at Yeoman
I wonder what the biggest CAT shovel working in the UK quarrying industry is at the moment? There's a 988 used to load dumpers off the face in a quarry I work out of, if I can, I'll post some pictures of it. BB Basilbrush, The largest CAT wheeled shovels operating in the UK are the 992G. There are ...

Re: Caterpillar 992 A B at Yeoman
Scans from quarry management 1970 ish For me there is just something about the look of the 992B on Beadless tyres, it just looks like it has a purpose. Certainly no other Cat loder in any line up looks like it and i would think a prime candidate for a diecast in either CCM,s 1/48 line (although the...

Re: PC3000 pics
Nice pics Stuart, How does the Power Crawler compare to the Roller Hydraulic? Does the 3000 have those stupid dinosaur gland seal packs that require shimming and them replacing when no more shim adjustment can be done, where i used to work we had 2 PC5500 and the bucket and stick cylinders required ...

Re: Leibherr 9800 excavator
is this the largest hydraulic backhoe machine in the world now? There is only 1 other 800 ton class backhoe in the form of the PC8000 and at that level the machines are specced how a customer wants so ultimate operating weight and buckets can vary ever so slightly so a bit of a hard question to ans...

Re: Mining Truck. Dynamics.
Not the best selling point for some regions Ross like the noise sensitive hunter valley, we had 830E DC trucks where i worked and i likened the noise to a cross beetween being at the train station next door to the airport!! ED does work well and i was glad to be working on them for 18 months to see ...

Re: CCM 1/48 Cat 666 scraper
Your not wrong Martyn, with the gear i have seen on the tube from Russel Saywell and some of the former ACMOC days plus what i have seen in the link magazine you poms are served very well from the halcyon era of Cat gear. Heck even some of the Becher and Billings kit is great stuff and a lot of the ...

Re: CCM 1/48 Cat 666 scraper
Thats the way to do it!! It looks in pretty good nick and very original except for the makeshift ROPS, did the scraper come with the deal and is the plan to restore it to like new for the pleasure of all the UK enthusiasts and of course yourself?
