On the french photo forum there are literally thousands of fantastic earthmoving pictures and a good 6 or 7 contractors with big spreads of 631/D10. The french seem to ave made an art out of that combo just like the UK has done in mining with 777/RH120. Roger Martin features quite a lot on that forum.

Thanks for the info TC, i have never seen a cable 631 down here but i am sure there would have been, worked on every model since them though. My field service job with the dealer here in Sydney is now a product support job and the old orange Cat toolbox has turned into a laptop. Off topic a tad but ...

They look in very good condition for there age, the cable 631,s you hardly see anywhere, some contenders for period correct full resto there i would say.

I visited Rons workshop when he was building this last March while attending Conexpo, His stuff is built with 1 thing in mind, functionality for the purpose at hand, up close and i don,t mean to sound disrespectfull to him in any way as they let me have a good look through the shop with good friend ...

Im with TC on this, ive seen dozers put together as in the pic with the knuckle block the wrong way around and they are good for nothing, so called "carry dozer" or trimming or any other name, im sorry but thats been put together wrong, end of. Sb You guys have nailed it, it is completely...

The Cat diggers numbering system see,s the last 2 digits reflect what the machine can swing in tons, 6030, 30 ton/pass, 6090, 90 ton/pass.

Thats it regarding Cat, over a year for a D11 now due to the demand I know of one manufacturer that has lost out to Cat's RH series because they have longer delivery times.
