Re: 1988 JCB 3xc 4WD Grey Cab

Topkit , thanks for that . I haven't done too much more than fill in pot holes with planings , but I have done roughly similar with type 1 etc . I think my pile of planings has been left too long to scoop up easily , I'll maybe use the back actor to loosen them up a bit . I must also be a bit tight ...

Re: 1988 JCB 3xc 4WD Grey Cab

Yes the exhaust flap is defonetly on the list. And the way you describe the gear shift is exactly the same as my machine. What gear do you normally use most when working :insomnia: or what’s the best you think  The exhaust flap helped mine from spewing water out when I start it after it's ...

Re: 1988 JCB 3xc 4WD Grey Cab

I have the same model . Looks very tidy . I see there are brackets holding the exhaust which I haven't seen before , not a bad idea . An exhaust flap might be an idea ?. The gear lever on mine is like stirring porridge , I just make sure I get 2nd and not 4th as the box starts to cook in 4th if you ...

Re: DIY Pond Dredger in Design Stage

Bloody hell , sounds a good project .
If the silt is soft then it might bury the suction head into the silt and block it .
What would control the depth of dredge and rate of propulsion ?

Re: JCB 3cx greycab tyre sizes

Welcome to the forum . I have the same size rear tyres , but I am unsure about the fronts and I'm nowhere near my machine for a few weeks . The manual is listing for the front 10.5 x 18 in traction or Firestone or Goodyear 10.5/80 x 18 on a 10 ply tyre . The industrial tyre is 12 x 18 in a 12 ply .H...

Re: 3CX Grey CAB Slew Cylinder Bolt Size

Well done on getting the job done . Where was the oil coming out when the cylinder leaked , does it just go into the slew rack and then out the fill hole ? I have a lot of play in my slew and I was thinking of taking the bottom plate off and having a look at the rack etc . Is it possible to see anyt...
