Re: Old Navvy.

Nice one Steve, Is the 33 being restored or has it come to the end of the road :?: I looked after a 33 in the late 60s, The 5VPHN was one of Ruston's best, a brilliant engine which was fitted to a few other RB models too. We didn't have to swing the compressor too often because we co...

Re: Hunslett shunter

Hi Norman, Sorry I cant help source the lights. The old Leyland, AEC and most others had all black cabling with labels attatched, needless to say the labels soon disappeared leaving us with a similar problem to yours. Part of my tool kit in those days was a battery operated electric door bell,...

Re: Classic pictures Updated 07/07/2018

Hi Steve,
Lloyds of Ludlow had a depot in Merthyr Tydfil just a few miles from Hymac at Rhymney. Their manager at Merthyr was a good friend of mine and they did most of Hymac's deliveries.
They delivered a new 580 C to me in 1977 and if I remember rightly the unit was an AEC.

Re: TM 55?

Hello Rob, That is a nice machine you have there but it isn't realy a TM 55. It is a TM or TM50 with the Perkins L4 (TA) engine which developed 48 bhp. The later TM55 was fitted with the Perkins 4-270 engine which developed 56 bhp. The TM50 was built between 1955 and 1959, and the TM55 from 1960 to ...

Re: PH2 oil level

Hi,
The PH1 & 2 Should have the same dipstick.
The crank case casting of the PH1 is only a shorter version of the PH2 casting.
Everything else including the dipstick has the same dimension so just mark the one dipstick agsinst the other.
The part Nos of both sticks are the same.
