Ref the Allen graders shown, two different versions, I attach photos of another version parked at the side of the A6 in Plumpton, Cumbria and the 4mm to the inch model I am building based onthis o ne.

PS in cleaning down I would not be surprised if some part that had missed being repainted shows up in dark bronze green Army paint!

Have a look under Muir Hill dumpers, your photo seems to be of one of the type I had in Osnabruck No backrest on the seat, square back to the skip unlike the countoured Liner one and the skinny little back wheels just like the front wheels of a standard Fordson tractor.

Fowlerman's photo is the nearest I have seen but seems to be modified from the war time or pre war beasts we had.

I instructed plant operators in Osnabruck with 27 Planrt Training Troop RE in the mid 1950s. I had on my signature and was responsible for training bods on 20 Muirhill dumpers. Hand throttled with a crash gear box they were not the easiest thing to master especially as the steering was from the rear...
