Re: Perkins 6.354 fuel pump JCB 814

Thank you very much for your reply. It is not a huge amount leaking at the moment but you would not want to spend the night underneath the old girl anyway! I will keep an eye on it now I know what it is. Funnily enough it had not been run for a couple of months at least with the warmish weather yest...

Good point I shall have to clean it up a bit. I found a photo on the web, not all pumps appear to be fitted with it.

Thanks

Perkins 6.354 fuel pump JCB 814

Dear all

I noticed today a diesel leak from what looks like a round disc (diaphragm) on the front side of the vertical fuel pump. Not sure what this does (some kind of regulation?). Is it common to develop a leak there? I can't see exactly from where the leak is actually coming.

Thanks Peter

Re: Front loader?

Well it might not be so bad if you could find a triple spool from a breaker but I guess by the time you pipe it up and buy a half decent bucket it would be expensive. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-JCB-3C-mk11-for-breaking-/112921787441 1970 Mk 2 looks similar in the cab with 2 levers to our first ...

Re: Thwaites Alldig

You seem to have got the ram end disconnected. Do the rams operate in and out with no load? I can't really see but are the ram double acting with 2 feeds each?

Re: Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

If you do as Jeremy has said and the liners measure OK would it worth having the head skimmed? Also have you had any over heating problems? I ask because we had a problem with a powertrain and the radiator was blocked externally in the cores although I had thought I had cleaned it sufficiently. hard...

Re: Benford MBR 71 Roller

The pulley shaft does not look very central coming through the back casting.
