Are you talking the old 3C 111? If you are then dropping the bottom plate will drop the oil as far as i can remember. I thought the plate was on the same side as the big filter housing behind the hinged cover/door?

As an anorak I just need to point out that the 700 in these photos was a Torque Convertor model. The Bedford looked very tidy.

Good news ! The reason I asked if it was solid (and it obviously was) is because sometimes pins can wear a shoulder that make removal a right PITA.
