Re: Kubota Manuals

Yes, still got it though it is very tired and one hydraulic pump wasn't doing much last time I started it, what condition is yours in?

Kubota Manuals

I'm looking at getting an old Kubota RW25 to go with my old Winget dumper. Anyone have any paperwork - manuals/brochures/specs for these old Kubotas? Struggling to find out much about them online! Thanks.

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

Yes its definitely the right era - the handbrake on series (and others!) LRs is on the back of the transfer box not the axles and is manually operated by rods. I've got them both freed and working at the moment but they are missing dust covers and both have cracks in the castings so its only a matte...

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

She runs! Got the head back on with new gaskets all round, she then started without too much trouble :D Need to adjust the idle though as there is just a mass of disconnected springs on the foot throttle assembly that need sorting out. Somehow in all this the corroded oil pipe that takes oil to the ...

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

Thanks all for the info - especially Fred for all that detail! much appreciated. I like the sounds of starting on one turn. I think I gave it a lifetimes worth of turns so far so I reckon it owes me any easy life after this :) At the moment I have ordered a head set from Geoff Quick at e-gaskets (£1...

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

Hi Julian, I'm getting the figures from here for compression: http://www.oldengine.org/members/diesel/PetterData/PetterPH2.htm also says compression ratio should be 16.5:1 - do these sound right? the compression tester I used went from 0-1000 psi so I thought 535 psi sounded a reasonable enough pres...

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

Bit of an update - Julian yes I was doing it wrong then, the engine is mounted quite far back and I was loosing the rhythm when reaching over to hit the decompresser and wasn't following through. Will bear in mind the boiling water tactic, I have had multiple warnings from others elsewhere about the...

Re: Winget PH1 starting problem

Hi all, thanks for the responses and welcome! First, Jeremy no I haven't yet checked valve clearances, borrowed a set of feeler gauges from a mate tonight so will do that tomorrow as it is blowing a gale just now - however looking at the tiny rocker box I can well see why the manual wants you to faf...

Winget PH1 starting problem

Hi, I just bought an old Winget (2s?) dumper. It won't start for me, and as I'm not used to old hand cranked engines then maybe someone here would be kind enough to offer some advice! So far I have drained the fuel and put new diesel in, changed the fuel filter element, replaced the air filter and c...
