Re: What is this ?

Light steam tractor of some sort, definitely USA origin. Dont think its Case, looks unusual, a very small diamter boiler, could be rare. best place to get an answer will be on Smokestak website, http://www.smokstak.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7

I am intrigued.

Re: Army D7 video

Lovely old beasts arent they? Both my 7's have the starting handle coming up through the bonnet, a stupid place as you then have to balance on the track to swing it and if it backfires your hand gets flung into the exhaust, (several of us have the scars to prove it!). I have fitted an electric start...

Re: Old D7 in Ontario, Canada

D7; Most likely a 7M, 3T or 4T 1940's 7M was the agricultural The 3T was the commercial version, 4T was the army, sent in their thousands across to Europe and even more to the Russians. Most stayed there, the deal was that they didnt return to mess up the after war market. There was also a 6T versio...

Re: 18 furrow ploughing

Some more photos of the ploughing. This one shows the issues with getting each plough to follow correctly, back plough needed pushing over to get the furrow wheel into the open furrow of the plough in front: 100_1700.JPG My assistant (father) tripping the plough for me: 100_1698.JPG Nearly right 100...

Re: Help ID Old Trailer please

used to have a trailer just like that, but then again as previously said local blacksmiths made and adapted so many that I guess they all looked similar. The support jack casting looks very similar to ours, trying to remember make; might have been a Salop. The trailer was always known as "The C...

Re: 18 furrow ploughing

Martyn Actually it turns pretty easily once its all out of the ground, tractor drawbar has to be left to swing otherwise the slightest tweek on the steering would bend it all with the bodies in the ground. So keeping it straight whilst ploughing takes a lot of concentration and anticipation, you hav...

18 furrow ploughing

Finally got round to adding the third plough onto the double hitch system. So we now have three Ransomes Hexatracs behind the 1944 D7 4T. The field was just over 400 yards long so covering half an acre on each bout. Back plough was a slightly different model to the front pair and we couldnt get it r...

Cat 951 A 63k Traxcavator

Having a clear out, just cant afford to keep everything any more. My 1968 Traxcavator has to go, ideally I want it to go to someone who will look after it, and I really don’t want to be the one that melts it!! Tracks all good, engine very sound. Clutches free, brakes not good at present, not sure if...

Re: Fowler VF Engine parts

Martyn

I have spoken to my man, changeover valves are very scarce, he did have one but has sold it.

Might be worth ringing him for other bits, ring Graham on 07976 319399

Re: Fowler VF Engine parts

Martyn What is he looking for? I have only a few parts. Crawfords would have anything you could possibly want for Marshall engines and VF's. They have a stock of original parts as they bought up the old stores and also break tractors. But you will have to pay top dollar for it. http://www.rhcrawford...
