Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

I ought to have a look in my parts book!

I managed to get it out fairly easily in the end using a knackered, bent screwdriver and parrot jaws, it slid very easily thankfully, and now has a P clip inserted to hold it out.

Next time I bring it back into the yard I'll get at it with the welder I think

Hose sourced from a place pretty much the next village over from us https://www.controltechltd.co.uk/ Wasn't the cheapest at £50, but it was the least hassle. Now fitted and the JCB is back in service

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

Cheers for that Phil Yeah P38's are still pretty damn good value and they very rarely rot which is staggering considering just how badly the Disco 2 does around the back end. This could come back to bite me but the air suspension is nothing like as expensive or complex to run through as the internet...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

I'm in East Peckham which is next door to Paddock Wood (where there is a mobile chap, not paying for a callout!) and 10 minutes from Tonbridge, everything seems to be out Sittingbourne and Ashford way though. Although these chaps might be able to do something: http://www.alltypehose.co.uk/products.h...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

It's been a while since I've posted on here, let alone an update on the 3CX... I've been a bit distracted by life (read divorce) and efforts to try to get my ex-wife to move out of the house so I can get it tidy enough to market which includes moving all my big stuff out and down here to Kent. To th...

Re: Classic pictures Updated 08/05/2021

The John Stacey Foden with the Case excavator on is from where I was living until my divorce began, Tadley on the Hampshire/West Berkshire border operating from old man Stacey's yard (his boys now run the business) barely a mile from 'my' house. He was from one of the local Traveller families who ma...

Re: 3cx Grey Cab 1990 - Loose Wire -Help!

Good stuff!

I was out in our orchard this evening pottering about in mine trying to d9 some grading while avoiding the daft chickens who it seemed wanted to be in the bucket raking through the soil I was moving about.

Re: 3cx Grey Cab 1990 - Loose Wire -Help!

Smaller gauge suggest either signal wire or low current device. Have you tried to trace it back to anything in the cab? Not easy I know, but seeing if there's anything behind the instrument cluster with a similar coloured wire might help

Re: 3cx Grey Cab 1990 - Loose Wire -Help!

Welcome Barry, I can feel your pain with what I have had to 'fixed on my older machine! I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but have you consulted the wiring diagrams in the manuals you have downloaded? I've only got the one for the black cab to hand, and looking at the ones in that I coul...
