Re: Classic pictures Updated 16/11/2020

Those Steam Rollers were pictured outside of a pub in Kent which would traditionally have been situated to the North of the Medway...and it looks familiar...because I used to drink in it from time to time when in Tonbridge with my mates from school days: http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/...

Re: Jcb 3cx

The pictures are not in order. I had the grill off while trying to clean a lifes time of crap out of it. Ah, yes I need to take mine off to do the same, I now have some grass growing in there! Plus it's bashed to buggery after I got a bit over aggressive pushing branches around loading burning bonf...

Why's the grille off in that last pic?

I was watching a plastic/rubber cover grille on ebay over the past week, it's was a bit tatty but complete and it sold for 270 odd quid! :insomnia: Stroll on, could buy useful stuff for that!

Re: 3cx reverser

Nice job with a MIG, I really need to get more practice in on panel welding because I always make a mess with mine trying to run seam welds all the time. Oddly if it had been gas welding I could have made a lovely neat job of it with little distortion which is somewhat backwards considering the rela...

Re: 1982 3CX Rear Window Frame Parts

The extra length on the spindle that sticks out on the free ends is for the plastic turnbuckle locks to act on, you can see part of one of them in my photo of the spindle

Re: 1982 3CX Rear Window Frame Parts

I've no idea I've not tried to remove them  I had just assumed that they were either held in place with a bolt, or circlip. But looking at the drawings in the parts book it does look like they just slide over the spindle: http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/userpix/69225_1TY73XLUCAKOA1...

Re: 1982 3CX Rear Window Frame Parts

Cool!

Just one question though; how do you intend to attach them too the spindles?

Re: 1982 3CX Rear Window Frame Parts

Yup, and they are attached to the lock mechanism: http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/userpix/69225_1HL8HOFRU057O1605019706.jpg http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/userpix/69225_9P395C6J2YAD1605019707.jpg They're the same diameter and thickness as the top rollers, but with the 20mm...
