Re: 1987 JCB 3CX 1550B Losing reverse from time to time
Hi essexpete, Thanks for the info. Spoke with someone today who explained the manual's discrepancies and identified my machine as having the "synchro shuttle" based on serial number. He also stated that the Ford F type trans fluid is OK, but not Ford Mercon, but since my trans/shuttle alre...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX 1550B Losing reverse from time to time
Thanks again essexpete and topkit for your replies. I got under the machine today and saw that my trans/shuttle/gearbox combo looks very similar to the one shown on page 2-2 (attached), with the exception being that my shuttle and trans share the same cast iron case, rather than being bolted togethe...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX 1550B Losing reverse from time to time
Hi topkit and essexpete. Thanks for the replies. Machine continues to act the same, though you may be onto something regarding oil level and correct or incorrect fluid. I believe my system is low, though I learned that I need to recheck with engine idling. I have been on the forums trying to deciphe...

1987 JCB 3CX 1550B Losing reverse from time to time
Hello All, Can anyone please offer suggestions for troubleshooting my 1987 JCB 1550B losing reverse issue? After using the machine for 40 minutes or so I have on three occasions now, lost reverse. In all cases so far, shutting down the machine overnight, or even for a couple of hours has allowed the...

Re: JCB 3CX Loader Curl Cylinders not in synch
Thank you to all. Once the machine was running I just tapped the curl lever inward a few times and walked the link right into alignment. It worked exactly as you said it would. Thanks again.

Re: JCB 3CX Loader Curl Cylinders not in synch
Hi agrimax, thanks for the reply. I assumed that given the power of these cylinders, even the "loaded" left side wouldn't even notice the drag of the empty bucket and they would both move the same amount. Thanks to both you and essexpete I have something to try tomorrow and will report bac...

Re: JCB 3CX Loader Curl Cylinders not in synch
Hi essexpete. Thanks for the reply. I don't know what the crowd spool is, but I will look into that. Are you saying that there is a way to single out one hydraulic line, allowing me to activate only right side bucket curl while leaving the left still?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

JCB 3CX Loader Curl Cylinders not in synch
Hello All, I had a loader pivot pin that would not take grease. It was the right side pin located at the lower end of the vertical link that connects the loader arm to the bucket curl cylinder rod pivot. I removed the pin in order to clear the obstruction in the grease pathway, and when I did the as...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX 1550B Please help ID items in cab photos
Thank you essexpete and topkit. I appreciate your help. I figured I'd start with basics and get my Bostrom seat to swivel correctly. It was bound up very tight to being completely non-adjustable. Dismantled it, and hoping to get it back together tomorrow. topkit- Is the system you described what I h...
