thanks for confirming. the cover on mine is also buckled, so am assuming frost damage caused that.
incidentally, i used wynns engine flush when changing the engine oil and i have never seen such dirt come out with oil before (and i have changed a lot of oil over the years).

great photos, i have the same problem with play in the slew. re. the drain plug photos, i think i can see two plugs underneath on the photo and am i rigbt to assume its the one on the right that i need to drain it out? if so, does anyone know what the one on the left is for? i am more than a little ...

i just sorted a similar problem. it started when i ran the fuel tank empty. when i put diesel back in vic (my 3c2), he wouldnt start for love nor money i changed both the fuel filters which were full of a sludge but he still wouldnt go. i then took the fuel lift pump apart and that was full of the s...

hi all, thanks for adding me to the forum. i currently have a 1978 jcb 3c2 with a leyland 4/98 engine which i am doing a bit of work on. it runs fine, with a couple of minor ram seal leaks main issue being addressed is the rust. wish me luck.
