When I left them around 2010 they still had 7 (633D x4 633G x2 & the 639D) but not too sure these days.. the scrapers were parked for a long while after Ravensthorpe finished up, we sent them over to Roxby Downs.. the 639 did well at knocking the tops off the dunes then the 33's shifted the hard...

Hi Elfonz, I spotted a Thomas 639D at the Airport road works job near Tonkin Hwy, it was Ertech's old one S2.. knew that machine pretty well over the years

The trouble with mounting the aircleaner up high is it's gotta be removed for transport and refitted.. somewhat of a hassle when working civil construation as its always jimping from job to job, the remote setup had been fitted to that machine well before the handrails and snot were fitted

use to play with one when I did my time, this unit was a genuine 99X prefix.. there are afew made up 639D's getting around WA which are built up from a 633D, another trick for young players is a 639D also has x2 extra paddles than a 633D (abitta useless infor for ya!) http://www.classicmachinery.net...

Piacentini also use D4 dozer chains on their 633D & 639D scoops.. they run a fixed lower idler and a pivoting arm with roller to get the adjustment, I asked one of their leading hands how long they get outta the D4 chains compared to the standard chains, his answer was they haven't worn any out ...
