Re: JCB 3CX project 7 slew lock
Thanks for the tip, I’ve finally found the workshop manual page. My machine has the handbrake lever as described. Strangely though the beacon and ancillary lighting switches are at the bottom left knee area and it has a clutch pedal. According to the manufacture year it shouldn’t? Go figure! It also...

JCB 3CX project 7 slew lock
Can anyone tell me how to work the slew lock on these machines(I think project 7, it’s a 1996 N plate). An old friend of my fathers used to say they were a c**t to disengage and advised me just to tuck the back actor in: this is all fine and well, but now I’m doing a lot of road work maybe 20 miles ...

Re: JCB 3C and 3CX buckets
Found the picture thanks again. Got the hydra-clamp or whatever the old name for it was to work and managed to slide the back actor over to one side to get in at the pipes. Think i need a new started motor aswell but it will still turn over if you just agressive click the keys on and off a few times...

Re: JCB 3C and 3CX buckets
Thanks for the info Martyn, I did download the manual. Just struggling to sort the brakes now. There is also a badly leaking ram seal. Is there a special tool required for removing the ends?

Re: JCB 3C and 3CX buckets
Got the digger today very happy with it. Absolutely no brakes though. A bit hairy getting it off the low loader, just put the back actor on the ground and inched it back, nearly fell off the ramps but got her down eventually. Can someone tell me which wheels are original the reinforced one or the tr...

Hi there,
Yep just got her on ebay. Should be getting delivered on Wednesday. Glad to hear the brakes arent too much of a pain to fix. Few more pics too.

Re: JCB 3C and 3CX buckets
Thanks for the advice. This is my first digger so I am a bit clueless but the search thing is handy and the manual downloads are great. Looking forward to learning more about the machine. First thing to sort is the brakes which are pretty ropey.
