Re: Classic pictures Updated 02/05/2021

Great photos Steve; love the 'Mickey Mouse' Foden in the first photo, not so very far from me, I had friends that lived in Acocks Green Brum, the second photo of the 400 Series Sed Atk, an early one probably 1976-77 with IOM registration. Jeremy I guess that kind of trailer set up was not...

Re: Classic Cranes

Last two are Thornycrofts the last being a 1950s Trusty, unusual.
The middle one appears to have the front grille of the Amazon mounted on a cab that was also fitted to the Mk1 Antar tank transporters a la Dinky.
First one does look Foden especially front hub caps.
Keep them coming :D

Noticed a few Drotts there.
When and why did Drott's (meaning any track shovels) fall out of favour ?
I started in Construction in 77 and you saw very few on building sites but no site in the 1960s seemed to be without one.

Re: Classic Truck Concrete Mixers

In the very first of Yewmans mixer pics the mixer has a very square shaped rad cowl , I wonder if this is Fordson or not.
Probably never know without brochure but they do seem to be the 'standard' mixer donkey engine.
