Thanks Pete for taking the time to do that, and for your info on the 3rd service. It looks like I’ll have to think again eh!? ;)

Front loader?

Could any of you fellas tell me if the front loader arms on my JCB 3C2 are the same distance apart as 3cx’s by any chance? I’ve got a standard bucket on the 3c2 and wouldnt mind a 4in1 or similar in the future, so it would be good to know if later buckets even quickfit backplates maybe? would fit. C...

Zetor 5711 chuffing?!

Evening all, Got a bit of a problem with my 5711 pressuring number 2 cylinder. It all started a few months back as I saw dots of oil landing on the bonnet while using a sawbench, and it was smoking more than normal too. I took the rocker covers off all cylinders, and while pulling the engine over by ...

Re: Thwaites dumper weight?

Thanks guys for your info! Luckily the steering is pretty good and light, which considering the column was seized after being sat on a hill for at least 6 years is pretty lucky. The greedy boards make it huge dont they,so must have been used for bulky stuff like woodchips or a stables or park.....who...

Hi,
Could any of you please tell me how much this thing weighs please for transport? I have a rough idea, but would be glad to hear from others that may well be in the know.
Thanks.

Re: 3C2 axle kingpins

Thanks for the info Jeremy. Good to hear parts should still be available too. I was hoping to find an exploded diagram to see what its like inside, but if its a simple as you say I might just as well strip it down and have a look at the damage! Funnily enough, I got hold of a lathe and an old Renaul...

3C2 axle kingpins

Hi all, Could any of you point me in the right direction as where to find some illustrations of the front axle kingpins for a JCB 3C2 please? I’ve looked on the downloads and cant find any decent pics, or I’ve been a plank and missed them  (I’ve got the front wheels off for the first time, as...

Re: 3c2 tyres?

Just managed to get the old girl home last week, so I can repair a few of the things that need doing. I’ve taken one of the front wheels off, and trying to fit on an 18 inch rim off a muckspreader was fine apart from needing to put the valve side of the rim on the inside, and even then the rim light...

Re: 3c2 Hyd.oil level and ram rod?

Thanks boys for the input. There were a few raised edges which I whipped off. Might give some belzona liquid metal stuff a go, sounds like its good stuff, and worth a try before getting another ram eh. I’ll let you know how it goes.
