Very nice old machine and also very straight the front grille and bonnet look exceptionally nice and straight it obviously did not have a very hard life. Out of interest what area id you get it from as i knew of a very clean one in Cornwall.

If you have got the machine serial number you should be able to go o your local JCB dealer and they should be able to get you one or give you the correct part number which you could then cross reference and get a suitable replacement one for your digger, Are you sure that is a 2D Those really early ...

I would think maybe one of the valve block valves is leaking or not closing completely, i had one on a New Holland that used to make the slew creep round you could hear the valve making a slight noise.

I still have some construction news Magazines from the 70's one off them has a backhoe loader comparison for JCB 3C mk2, MF 50B, Hymac 370, et. They used to give away some great advertising posters too.

Great pictures Martyn, love the Class 52 they were an awsome locomotive unfortunately the withdrew them just before i started on the railway. I am enjoying your 2D restoration on Youtube that a nice straight digger that you have got :thumbup:

You cold also try Simon Vicary just google Vicary JCB spares, also try Jakespare he is not always easy to get hold of. also Eric Warburton, Lastly but not least Rusty Parts up in Yorkshire he is very helpfull.

I have had a few backhoes stuck over the past few years, on a 3CX , Case 590 and more lately a for D655 all of them eventually freed off, i usually put the boom and dipper straight out from the back then rest the bucket down on the ground hold the sideshift release lever and move the maching on the ...

That is exactly what they do weld extra matal onto the legs to take up the play, There are a few inner legs for sale on Ebay but as they are used the chances are that they will be the same.
