the tractor route will be your only option. Hymac never produced breakdowns of internal engine components or service books for engines.

could well be the solenoid valve on top of the box.
have you tried swapping over the coils, or wires to see if problem shifts to the forward gears?

Liners on this Leyland engine are notorious for becoming porous.

Hi difficult to diagnose, but what I do know is that the transmission pumps are a very popular spares request. As this is on of the cheaper components in the box, may be worth a try first. Pumps also tend to react badly when oil gets hot, so again points to this being a possibility. I have in stock ...

hydraulic oil in the reservoir.
ISO22 is best but regular ISO32 will do.
in the axle, where brake discs are, Wet Brake Lube or Super Universal Tractor Oil.
