Re: Case 580G

Hi diggerjones, what symptoms did you have with your machine?
How did you get on dropping the box out?
and who did the overhaul for you?

Re: Case 580G

A bit more info for you all. The shuttle seems to be a Borg Warner unit, would this be the same unit as fitted to early JCB 3cx machines?

Case 580G

Evening CMN, We are seem to have a problem with the transmission on the family's 580G. Basically it's lost forward drive, although it's fine in reverse so I assume it's a problem with the forward clutch pack? Are there any further tests to carry out or checks to be made or any advice as to where we ...

Re: A couple of Countys

Indeed 1979 was County's 50th year.
That tractor ran around for a couple of years in that colour scheme before being repainted and sold by Osbournes in Hampshire.

Re: The High Scrap Price

I know what you mean, it's not until you've had to do restoration work on kit that you really appreciate what's worth saving  . Most People only see the scrap value when the machine stops working and that's usually not a terminal failure, they just get something else to do the job and leave the...

You could hang the rotator from the bucket pin hole on the dipper with a 2 way link so it can tip both ways and use the bucket ram function to turn it if you are going to use a set of manual tongs.

Hope it all works out for you Jr.

Re: i want to turn my jcb 3c into a forest machine, but need your help/suggestions first..

I think a 3c would really struggle in almost 99% of woodland situations as traction, manoeuvrability and as trackshovel says ground clearance would be very limited. Maybe in a yard it would be ok but don't forget if you have the king post stuck on one side then you won't be able to lift anything hea...

Re: crawler tractor three point linkage

Seen a few crawlers with linkage about, just a pair of rams on the back and the required arms etc, don't think any had automatic draft control. Just down to the operator to fine tune as they went along. I think Cat, Fiat, Marshall and even massey had their own linkage designs in the end. Some late f...

Re: Newbie 200B

The Perkins 3.152 and it's derivatives must be one of the most common engines in the world, as long as they have not been overheated they seem to clock thousands of hours no problem. I have a little MF 135 which has been in the family from new in 1967 and that has now got a genuine 11000 hours on it...
